The Members of the Wallkill Hook, Ladder & Hose Co. invite you to come out and support two of our department family members. Bill and Gina Davidson need our support more then ever. Gina has spent the last month in the hospital in New York City with her husband by her side every moment of the day. He has been traveling back and forth from Wallkill, NY to New York City and everyday expenses have become much more than they have both expected nor able to maintain. Over THOUSANDS of dollars have been spent and, as you can imagine, money has been depleted from their savings accounts very quickly. Gina has been plagued by heart issues for the last 14 years and her fight has been VALIANT!!! But time has taken its toll on Gina and her heart and her team of Dr.’s have decided to place the "HEARTMATE 2" into Gina. Since the left side of Gina’s heart has STOPPED WORKING, this device will be running that side of her heart. The right side of Gina's heart is weak BUT with time will become stronger. With this device Gina will be on battery packs during the day and MUST plug into a main system at night to keep the device working. As a direct result of the last 14 years and all that has happened, Gina cannot get wet, climb stairs, bend, lift anything at all, nor can she drive. The ONLY bathroom is upstairs in the house and at least a half bathroom is needed desperately in the downstairs part of the house. Bill, Gina's husband, can NOW return back to work, maintaining their ONLY income, after taking the past 6 to 8 weeks off from his job at the Wallkill School District to help care for his wife. Obviously there are many obstacles staring this family in the face. The biggest of which is FINANCIALLY!!! Medical Bills, Traveling Costs, Mortgage and Cost of Living Expenses have become a huge burden on this family. THIS IS WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!! We are reaching out to YOU….THE COMMUNITY…..OUR FAMILY for HELP. Just a few days ago on April 20th, Gina was released from the hospital with ALL her equipment under the condition that she have the support of ALL her family and friends to care for her. On May 15th we will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner to benefit and raise money needed to make the necessary improvements to accommodate GINA and with the support of YOU, her family, friends and community we are we are looking to ALL pull together and make this benefit a GREAT SUCCESS!!!
