Biography
Hektek up and coming international DJ/Producer from The Bronx, New York started out as a Disc Jockey in the mid 1990's playing music in local neighborhood parties throughout the New York City area.
Hektek first showcased his talent outside of New York spring of 1997 on a local popular FM pirate radio station (91.7fm WJHH) in Miami, Florida. Back in the Bronx he was introduced to Afrika Bambaataa Hip Hop, Electro music pioneer and founder of the Universal Zulu Nation who gave Hektek the opportunity to demonstrate his turntable skills to audiences around the globe.
1998 Hektek began playing music at events in some of the most well known nightclubs across the United States, in 1999 touring overseas throughout Europe helping him earn international exposure. 2004 producing songs for Afrika Bambaataa's Album "Dark Matter Moving At The Speed Of Light" (Tommy Boy Records) Bronxmob "The Bronxmob Album" (Blunt Squad Recordings) as well as other local talent.
Hektek could frequently be heard playing all styles of music on "True School Radio Show" at CCNY's WHCR 90.3 FM in Harlem, New York Tuesdays 8pm-12am EST, in addition to the "Blunt Squad Radio Show" which broadcasts live on the internet. Spring of 2007 Hektek went on tour to Asia performing at clubs in Tokyo and Saitima, Japan with The Bronxmob. When Hektek is not traveling on tour he has kept himself busy in the studio working producing music. 2010 Hektek is back on FM, internet radio he is releasing a series of Hip Hop mixtapes online and continues to DJ at events along side the Amenra of Hip Hop Culture.
