I use Acid for Chopping. But mainly MixMeister Fusion and Ableton Live. I don't have any controllers for the time being so all of my stuff is down with a keyboard and mouse. Hoping to rectify that some time in the near future though.

So I see that the name of this thread is asking about what we think is the best software but your post didn't really ask that.

 

But to go into your question posted for this thread, there are some really good programs out there for straight up dj'ing. If your doing remixing and all I would say that what your using is good enough. If you want to just straight up DJ for the clubs or even on a live stream from home I would suggest Mixvibes or Virtual DJ. If that is a little out of price range for you then I would suggest checking out this free Open Source DJ software called MiXXX.

personally I dont use them but the best on the market is without a doubt traktor pro the sound quality & the huge amount of fx in it is amazing , I find these programs kinda take away the hands on feel of manipulating beats ( unless you get top quality controller) but thats just my view on it ................. gotta remember these bits of software are really just emulators for the real thing
