you gotta use the tools you know best & trust , I am a firm believer in quality equipment I tried cheap equipment back in  the early days then bought pioneer cdj 100's & was so impressed I upgraded to some of their better gear & shopped around for a real good quality mixer which was also great value for money. I have my dj gear hooked up through my digital audio workstation through optical leads for the cleanest sound I can get & record mix through an audio track on logic & save as 24 bit wav & 320 kbps mp3 ,the mp3 is so I can upload onto net & wavs for friends & personal use

Yeah I know I will start out with some lower priced stuff in the start of my venture back in to mixing but I know I will end up with the top of the line gear. Pioneer makes great products by the way.

Behringer BCD 3000 and 2000.

The  BCD3000 does plug and play, but so do some of numark controllers. You will notice the difference build quality too. Stealth doesn't come with a 'sound-card' but the Omni does and, you can see that in the price difference. I use vdj with a herc controller for the sound card, two cd-decks and a mixer (won't go into details), and I've never had a problem with the herc, esp since I'm not using it for the mix. But then again I'm just a bedroom :P

honestly, I've never been in a situation in the past where there wouldn't have been room for my laptop/controller setup. As long as you come prepared with a long enough RCA cable and a power strip, I'd think you'd be alright. From what I'm seeing these days, laptops and controllers are becoming the norm. And while I love the old technics, the sun is setting on them.

I agree. In all my situations since Novemeber of 09 I have not had any problems with setting up my controller along side of Pioneer CD decks and mixer. I actually use a channel on the pioneer mixer to plug into so it all works out.
