I'm here so obviously I love music! Progressive house to be exact. But I also love good deep, techY, funkY or tribalLY house if it leans towards prog! I've been into this for about 10 years now and buying vinyl for about 6 years. I very rarely go to clubs - something about the inconvenience and impracticality of getting into NYC on a Friday night after working all week long and having to wait until 1:00AM to hear the "superstar" DJ that I paid $30 for play HORRID tunes into the insane hours of the morning...........I guess I could go on a Saturday night but at 2:00AM I am STILL asking myself WHY the DJ waited so long to come on, WHY the people are enjoying THE CRAP he is playing and WHY they are not tired too! I have daytime obligations so I just can't go "nocturnal" that easily!
UNFORTUNATELY I don't personally know anyone else that is into the type of music that I am - and that's kind of a bummer. :( So if anyone from the NYC tristate area reads this and wants to ever get together to talk music and play records please, by all means, look me up.
I'll put up a few DJ mixes - feel free to listen to them and give me feedback, especially if you are better than me and think you can give me some tips that might help me. :) It would be nice to make friends with other DJ's online but even better if I could meet people from the NY area to get together with and play records and kick around tips and ideas, etc.
Anywho! I've got my latest mix up, titled "latest_and_er_greatest_mix!" - I think it turned out pretty good, as far as MY mixes go! (I have yet to make a perfect, spotless mix demo and I wonder if I ever will - I can either let it drive me nuts or just keep plugging away, trying to improve, and enjoying the music in the meantime!)
Anyhow, good or bad, let me know what you think - especially if they might be tips I can use to make the next one a little better.
:)
Peace.
Tim
